At 16, Finnlay is the oldest member of Ashen and has been drumming since the age of 8. Nicknamed The Grumpy Drummer, he's known for his intense focus and deadpan expression behind the kit—even though he's having the time of his life.
Finnlay might not look like your typical metalhead, but his influences speak for themselves: Pantera, Avenged Sevenfold, and System of a Down are on constant rotation. He's always trying to sneak the heavier stuff into Ashen's sound, balancing his love of metal with the band's more varied and melodic style.
